You need FINANCIAL FREEDOM: Financial education for consumers

 

Course description:

Week 1:   Budgeting, Saving and Financial Goals and Needs

Week 2:   Checks & Checking Accounts; Using Financial Institutions

Week 3:   Understanding Credit and Handling Credit Problems

Week 4:   Managing Debt and Avoiding Money Traps; Making Money with Money

Week 5:   Choosing Insurance; Learning about Job Benefits and Tax Issues

Week 6:   Consumer Law Issues; Having a Will or a Trust

Participants are required to pay a $10 fee to take part in the class; if they complete all six classes they receive the $10 fee back, plus $40 for participating.

 

Advanced registration is required.  Class size is limited (to 20 participants) in each class

 

Class is sponsored by Virginia Legal Aid Society's Danville office along with B*E*S*T.

 

Two new sets of classes start every eight weeks.

 

Daytime and evening classes offered.
