Types of Cases
LawLine provides advice in civil law matters such as:

Bankruptcy

Consumer fraud, predatory lending matters, debt relief, contract disputes, car repossession, credit card lawsuits, and home repair scams

Education issues involving student discipline, fees, and special education services

Employment problems and unemployment benefits

Family law, including divorce, child custody, and child support

Landlord/tenant disputes, including eviction and repair issues

Mortgage foreclosure

Health care access, including Medicare

Public benefits, including Social Security/SSI, Medicaid, and food stamps
Criminal and Traffic Cases
VLAS does not provide assistance in criminal or traffic violation cases. We handle only civil matters. If you are unsure if you have a civil or a criminal case, call and ask us.
Charges for Services
VLAS does not charge fees for services. You may be asked to pay for certain expenses, however, such as court filing fees or fees for serving papers.
Referrals for Help Elsewhere
If we cannot help you with your problem, we will do our best to refer you to an agency that may be able to help. We may be able to direct you to a private attorney in certain cases.
